Malaysiakini’s E-commerce Entrepreneurship Summit kicks off

Malaysiakini’s E-commerce Entrepreneurship Summit began today with business leaders, young startup owners and educators gathering at the Palace of the Golden Horses to promote and increase awareness on e-commerce and entrepreneurship in the country.

AirAsia, Fave, Shoppee, Alibaba and Boost are among the companies that will participate in the panel discussions today and tomorrow.

Malaysiakini co-founder and CEO Premesh Chandran said after the May 9th elections there are a lot of opportunities and Malaysia is moving itself to be a nexus for e-commerce, trade, marketing and technology for the whole of Asia.

He said the challenge will be for Malaysian entrepreneurs to compete with big players and take advantage of e-commerce to be successful.
